EuroSibEnergo is the largest independent power company in Russia, we control 18 power generation plants with a combined installed electricity capacity of 19.5 GW. The production of electricity and heat power is a core business of the company, accounting for around 9% of Russia’s total electricity production.

EuroSibEnergo’s major assets, HPPs and CHPs as well as open-pit coal licence plots, are located in Eastern Siberia, where an abundance of natural resources can be found and the economy of which will take off within the coming decades. A number of power consuming projects are planned to be implemented in the region within the next ten years, including the development of new oil and natural gas deposits, the construction of oil pipelines and natural gas pipelines, the construction of hydrocarbon processing facilities, the construction of new steelworks, including aluminum smelters. Implementation of these projects will lead to an increased demand for electricity and, as a result, an increase in EuroSibEnergo sales.

Over 15 GW of our capacity (or over three-quarters) falls on four major Russian hydroelectric stations located on the Siberian rivers the Angara and the Yenisei, specifically Krasnoyarskaya HPP (6 GW), Bratskaya HPP (4.5 GW), Ust-Ilimskaya HPP (3.84 GW) and Irkutskaya HPP (662 MW).

Key assets of EuroSibEnergo are located relatively close to China, which is why the company conducts actively participates in the negotiation of electric power exportation to the Northern and South-Eastern provinces of China, within the framework of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental agreement signed in 2006. The agreement provides for an increase in the annual volume of Russian electric power exports to China of up to 20 TWh by 2020.

The only EuroSibEnergo HPP located outside of Siberia is Avtozavodskaya CHP, which has an installed electricity capacity of 580 MW and is located in Nizhny Novgorod. Further, EuroSibEnergo’s sales and engineering businesses are in great demand outside Siberia: in Orenburg, Yaroslavl, Sverdlovsk and Tver Regions, in Altai and Krasnodar Territories as well as the Republic of Kazakhstan.
