The status of the largest independent power company in Russia and the major power generating company in Siberia implies EuroSibEnergo has a specific responsibility for the results of its operations to the population of the regions of its presence, to the customers, which consume electricity and heat power, as well as company shareholders. Our goal is to see that the development of our company supports the sustainable development of the regions that we work in and to see that this is done on the basis of the following four principles:
EuroSibEnergo’s major target is to provide a stable supply of electricity and heat power to consumers. For this purpose the company is currently undertaking a large-scale asset modernization program using cutting-edge technologies and engineering solutions in order to increase operational efficiencies and reliability, as well as to make working conditions comfortable for its employees. In order to meet the ever-increasing demand for electricity, EuroSibEnergo is engaged in th edesign and construction of new power plants and infrastructure facilities.
One of the most important components of our business approach is the way in which we address environmental issues.
Over three-quarters of the electricity produced by EuroSibEnergo is generated at HPPs, which are the most environmentally friendly generating facilities that do not emit greenhouse gases. One of the priorities of the heat power generating facilities modernization program is the reduction of greenhouse gas emission and the environmental load in general. The priority of EuroSibEnergo’s long-term strategy development is the use of natural gas and water resources as the most environmentally friendly energy sources.
Active investments in the social development of the regions where EuroSibEnergo operates are an important component of the Company’s business approach. We traditionally extend our support to kindergartens, schools, higher education institutions, cultural events, health care and sports. The company is engaged in charity and targeted support.
EuroSibEnergo makes investments in new high-tech projects undertaken in the power generation industry. We consider the nuclear power industry to be one of the most promising industries, capable of meeting mankind’s energy needs, while at the same time, minimizing environmental impact.
In the framework of joint venture with ROSATOM State Corporation, EuroSibEnergo is implementing a project for the development of a compact lead-bismuth fast reactor (SVBR-100).
Our ultimate target is to create compact power generation units with a 100 MW capacity on the basis of an SVBR-100 reactor, with embedded safety systems.
The compact size of the reactor will enable it to be transported by railway or by motor transport to its installation site; the modular concept will enable construction of diverse capacity nuclear power plants (divisible by 100 MW), depending on electricity requirements. The reactor should use various type of fuel intended for nuclear power plants; at the same time there are greenhouse gas emissions.
